                                                            America’s Favorite Inspector  TM

James Jackson IS America’s Favorite Inspector and the owner of Castrillo Home Service. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and is a Commercial Real Estate Inspector (CREI), Residential Real Estate Inspector (RREI), New Construction Inspection Specialist (NCIS), Certified Mold Inspector (CMI), Professional Environmental Inspector (PEI), Thermographer, Federal Housing Inspector (FHI) as well as being FEMA and HUD/REAC certified.  He has over 30 years experience in the building and inspection industry.

He is  a member of American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI), International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (IACHI), International Code Council (ICC), Appraiser Institute (AI).

After Hurricane Andrew James was a weekly television personality on WPLG TV10 in Miamiand was dubbed “Mr. Fix It” by the late Ann Bishop.  He appeared in “Surviving the Storm”, a DadeCounty public television special, teaching homeowners how to properly install plywood as a protective widow device.  He has performed inspections for the reality makeover program “Nice Package”, seen on the Oxygen Channel, and homes of Miami’s “Rich & Famous”.

James has been a guest on Terry Hall’s “This Week in Real Estate”, a nationally syndicated, radio talk show, as well as being interviewed by Larry King (twice).

His company has performed over 25,000 various type inspections to date to include Windstorm Mitigations. They have been actively involved in the Mitigation Process since its inception (2000). They were one first of twenty-six companies (out of 5000 +) in the state of Florida and one of four companies in Miami, certified by Florida Windstorm and Applied Research Associates to perform mitigation reports. They were one of three companies the state of Florida, selected for their wireless mitigation survey, BETA testing program, in 2003.

He trained and consulted major property management companies to include Fairfield Group, Carib Management, the Wilson Company, Independent Management Services, Benchmark Management Corp, and many others in the area of Needs Assets Evaluation.   His has performed inspections for bank clients to include Capital Funding Group, Citibank, FNMA, and numerous others.

He is a Lead Instructor for Kaplan / Inspection Training Associates (Coral Gables campus) and teaches for Kaplan in the Tampa campus, an International Speaker, Author, Business Coach, Trainer, and a recognized expert in the field of Home Inspections.

Speaking engagements include state and national conventions to include FABI, WIN, ITA, NACHI, Pro Lab and the Millionaire Inspectors Community.

James served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Shelter of Hope and on numerous committees with the South Broward Board of Realtors.

 He was a co-host of the Total Real Estate Package Show, featured on WKAT 1360 in Miami.  James is working on two of many children’s book series and enjoys spending time with his wife Jeannette and their 5 children, 10 ½ grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
